10:13 - NB: Hereditas was affected both my
Hurricane Katrina and
Hurricane Rita. We will resume publication as quickly as possible but
at present our computers, our printing company, and shipping are all
either inaccessible or only partially functioning.
10- 27 - We're making progress!
We're delighted to announce that we have an editor.
Semi-professional author Colleen Drippe', who contributed "The Bale Fire" to our Easter, 2005 issue, has joined our staff . Her first children's book The Little Blue House and its sequel, Christmas at the Little Blue House, available at Little Flowers Family Apostolate, detail the continuing story of a large traditional Catholic family in the modern world. Her book, Godcountry, published by Novelbooks, is " The most believable science fiction I've seen in a long time--science
fiction that understands the human condition and human soul yet still
fascinates with the marvels of the future." (Review by William Ferguson, publisher of the St. Linus Review, Tulsa, OK).
Mrs. Drippe' is now reading submissions for our Spring, 2006 issue
(Volume II, Number I). She encourages writers to familiarize themselves
with her new writers' guidlines and meet the easily remembered submission deadline:
January 1.
Meanwhile, we are awaiting delivery of a new printer so we can get the
orphaned Summer issue to you; Alas, we have faced reality and decided
not to attempt an Advent Issue for 2005. We appreciate our readers' and
writers' patience and loyalty.
11-27 - The print issue was mailed on November 23,
the day before Thankgiving. Due to the difficulty in getting it
completed, proofreading was spotty and several errata went
undetected. However, we are preparing a second impression and
will send the corrected copes to anyone requesting a replacement.
We particularly regret the omission of the conclusion to Benjamin
Ludwig's short story "Rosary"
and the re-Christening of Pavel Chichikov, who is now,
for the nonce, "Pavel Chichiko."
